Thalia Capo vs G7

G7 versus Thalia Capo: Which is better for you?

Both the G7th and the Thalia Capos are great Capos for playing with, and are much more beneficial to play with than just your average guitar Capo. Both can be taken off with just one hand and slid up and down the neck, and also don’t cause you to need to tune your guitar again after use. They both are able to be used on 6, 12 string guitars, Ukuleles, Banjos, and Madolins. Both of the Capos have lifetime Warranties as well.

Here are the two best review videos currently on youtube for each.

So, How Different are the Two?

There are no major differences in these two capos, except that the G7 is a much less expensive version of the two, and normally cost about half the price of the Thalia Capo. However, the Thalia Capo comes with very sleek inlays that’ll really stand out when playing. So when you play concerts you’ll have a beautiful capo to match your instrument since the inlays are endless. (Personal favorite is the 24k Gold finish capo with Hawaiin Koa Plumeria Lei Engraved Inlay, will be a great gift for my sister this year.)

So, what small differences are there?

The Thalia is a slight bit harder to squeeze, so if you have arthritis or if your hands are weak this would not be the capo for you. The difference is very slight however.

Keep in mind, the G7th Capo was actually meant for ease of use for the player and the Thalia was actually meant to be more of an aesthetic piece, you can read the story on their website about how how his daughter (Named Thalia) thought of the idea because she wanted her capo to match her Martin Guitar Link.

Since the G7 was meant for ease of use, you’ll find it is (Very slightly) lighter than the Thalia, which isn’t really that big of a deal. Considering that the heaviest Thalia is only 90grams.

Conclusion?

Between the G7 and the Thalia, I’d have to say if you want to spend the extra few dollars for a nice design go ahead and do it. But, if you’re not to into how your Capo looks the G7 is a much better and less expensive option.
