If you’re looking for an instrument that get kids interested in music, a microphone is the perfect gift.
Not only will they have a blast, but singing has actually been scientifically proven to make your kids little geniuses.
Curious about why that is? I was to. Here’s some interesting articles on the subject.
In this article, we’ll cover microphones for Babies, Toddlers, Elementary Kids, and middle school kids!
Our most important factors we looked at for each microphone was quality, safety, and of course price.
Let’s Get Started!
1. Vtech Baby Babble and Rattle
This is the best option for babies hands down. There wasn’t a lot of baby toys that were as safe as this one. Vtech does tons of testing to make sure their toys are completely safe, and that’s really what’s most important.
This option is also a ton of fun! Babies get to sing along with 60 different songs, and learn about all the different sounds animals make as well. Of course, it also amplify’s their voice so they’ll have a blast playing with this microphone.
It’s also super inexpensive! All in all, compared to other mics this is a steal and absolutely perfect for a baby (or toddler!)

2. Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Rock and Record Microphone
This one is a great option for babies and toddlers as well!
This one is a little different, but just as safe as the last one. Still very affordable and a great option.
So, what all can your little ones do with this mic? Lots of stuff! Just like the last mic, there are songs to sing along and melodies that can be played from pressing the buttons. Great Bonus? The songs are educational! They’ll be learning their ABC’s, counting, and more.
What’s the main difference between this one and the Vtech?
They can record what they sing to!
All in all, this is a great option for toddlers and babies. And of course, it’s safe. Fisher Price does a lot of testing on all their products.

3. Kidzlane toys Karaoke Bluetooth Mic
This is another great option for toddlers, that also lets you record!
It’s bluetooth enabled, has a voice changer, and has a built in speaker.
This one is a pretty popular option for kids mics, among kids and adults. On their website they stress safety which is of course the most important part.
Another inexpensive option. It has tons of cool extra features as well you’ll want to check out. Great for any toddler!
4. Vtech Kidi Super Star Mic
Want to go all out? This is your best option.
Not only is this a mic, but it’s also a karaoke machine! Pretty cool. You can sing along with songs on the machine, and record yourself as well! Kids will definitely feel like superstars with this toy.
There’s tons of other stuff young kids well enjoy as well. From voice changers to different games and more.

5. Frozen Mp3 Mic -eKids
This is the perfect gift for any kid who loves Frozen! The Microphone comes with built in songs from the movie, and you can also add songs as well with an mp3 player.
Really cool microphone, unless you’re already tired of hearing the songs from Frozen! (I don’t blame you if you’re tired of it!)
6. Bonaok Wireless Bluetooth Karoake Microphone
Honestly, this microphone is shockingly nice for the price point. And it’s pretty dang cool. This is probably the perfect Mic for Elementary kids!
This thing is a blast. It’s a karoake mic, that’s super easy to use. (But you don’t have to use it for Karaoke if you don’t want!)
All you need to do to play music, is turn the bluetooth on and it can connect to any bluetooth device you have. There’s also an SD card slot if you prefer and you can play the music that way.
There are built in speakers on the mic, so that’s all you need to do. However, you can use an aux cord to plug into a larger amp if you prefer!
The mic is really high quality, which is crazy for the price point. It has everything you need and more, my favorite thing is the echo effect (which is adjustable).
All things considered, any elementary kid will have a blast playing with this! Karaoke is fun for all ages, so this can even be a family event!

7. Shure SM58
Would you believe me if I told you this is the mic used by the presidents? And it’s actually affordable?
Well, I’d be lying……but only slightly. In fact the presidents use the SM57 which is the downgraded version from this microphone. They’ve used it ever since Lyndon B Johnson.
These mics are absolutely perfect for singing, and if you have a serious middle schooler who wants to become the next diva……this is definitely the one to get.
These Mics are used by almost every famous person out there, Sheryl Crow, Luke Bryan, Gary Allen………the list goes on and on.
Chances are if you buy this mic for your kid……they’ll probably never need another one.
This mic is perfect for all sorts of situations, from singing in live performances, to recording. There’s a filter on the outside that “cleans” all the extra noise. So the end result is just the singers voice.
The best thing though? this mic isn’t expensive. Which still blows my mind, I personally think they could charge a ton more for this microphone.
