Cover Versions of “Baby I love Your Way” (Most Popular)

Like many popular songs, Baby I Love You has been covered over and over again. In fact, the first time I heard the song I heard the Ramones version and assumed that was the original.

After hearing the original version from The Ronnettes (Link Here), I’d definitely say they played it the best (which makes sense!). There’s a more soulful feel from their version, and the classic tones of vintage recording just gives it a better feel.

This article is basically covering the most popular covers of the song. Hope you Enjoy!!!

First, is of course the song I originally heard by The Ramones. Sitting at almost 13 million views, this actually has more views on YT than the original had (A little over 7 million) which is a shame because the original is definitely better. Even though I still love The Ramones Version!

Going through the comments, doesn’t seem like a lot of people know this was a cover. In fact, I saw some videos of people covering this song and giving credit to The Ramones for writing it, so I guess there will always be people who don’t know.

It’s also surprising The Ramones stayed so close to the original version for this song. It’s not as punk sounding as their other material.

Andy Kim’s cover really reminds me of The Beach Boys, as a Canadian Star…..it’s very ironic that he is known actually because of this song. Another instance where a lot of people don’t know who the original artist was. This version is less funky and more relaxing. It has a very different feel than other covers.

This Next One by Bad Boys Blue, was a catchy pop tune without the feel at all of the other songs was popular in it’s time…..but hasn’t really stayed that way, with only 7,000 or so views on YT.

This one by Gary Holton and Casino Steel is also a great version, but didn’t stand the test of time as well. It’s got a great vibe to it that you can definitely jam along to. Not even a slight bit of the bluesy feel of the first version. However covers are meant to kind of expand the song, which they definitely did.

Another person to have their career take off because of a cover song…..Dave Edmunds covered this song and did a phenomenal job with great ambient backup vocals and a very powerful band. I love the jingle bells in the background as well.

Out of all the covers, I think the Ronettes would’ve enjoyed this version the best considering it has the same sort of vibe (hard to explain) that the original had. The other covers didn’t have as much soul I guess is the best way to put that.
