So, What Are they? How Do They work? And How can I use them?
Let’s start out with What they are-
Simulator pedals are one of the greatest inventions on earth, well for the musician anyways. These things are so helpful, I’d personally say they are a must for every guitar player out there.
In fact, simulator pedals can not only replace amps…..but in some cases they can sound even better in live performances because they make the sound go evenly throughout the PA system rather than all over the place with a traditional setup.
Basically, a Amp Simulator is just like having a nice amp in your pocket……for a fraction of the cost.
If that’s not cool enough for you, think of all the times you’ve gone to jam with a friend and their amps just didn’t cut it…….having these is a major help, and has been a major help for me to when I didn’t feel like lugging an amp to a gig, just plug in right to the pa system. Easy.
There all types of Amp simulators out there, you can pretty much get any sound you’re looking for. Pretty cool right?
Check out these awesome JOYO pedals, if you want to hear just how great they sound.
(It blows my mind how well they work)
Here’s some more I really like.
Tip: Like any musical tool you use in your arsenal, some are better than others. Even though I love amp simulator pedals just know that no two are alike and there are some not so great ones out there. So when shopping just make sure to do your research before you buy it. Will save you a lot of hassle trust me.
There’s tons to choose from! Like I said before you can get pretty much any style out of these that you want to get.
How Do they Work?
Honestly, I’m not exactly sure how they are made and exactly how they work. I did find some good articles on how they are made, so if you’re interested feel free to check these out.
How Can I Use Them?
Simply plugin your guitar to your amp simulator pedal and then plug that into whichever output you choose such as an amp. Then turn it on and you’re ready to go! Not complex at all, you’ll have to decide for yourself though how you want to adjust your settings.
Conclusion-
These are the handiest things ever, pretty much all guitar players need to have at least one! Really good idea and just plain useful.
