In late October this year (17th), Oli Herbert (formerly guitarist of All that Remains) passed away in what police are considering now to be a “suspicious” accident.
Connecticut State Police originally made reports stating the cause of death as drowning, which happened behind his home in Stafford Springs in a small pond.
The Easter District Major Crime Squad has now reopened this case, calling it “suspicious” after finding anti-depressants in his system that weren’t prescribed to him. According to his wife Elizabeth, “Oli was apparently self-treating for manic-depression that has run in his family for several generations” “Anti-depressants were found in his system, as well as a sleep aid.”
Elizabeth has also said that she is receiving threats now and because of this has decided to cancel (hopefully just postpone) the memorial service for Oli, she said “As far as why the memorial service was canceled, concern for my personal safety and home due to numerous threats to both is the reason. If anybody knows where Oli was getting the psych meds, please call Troop C.”
The case will be treated as undetermined until new information is found. Police are actively putting a timeline now for his last 24 hours to try and figure out more about the case.
