(Top 14) Star Shaped Guitars

Every once in awhile, you need to get a guitar that stands out a little….or a lot.

This comprehensive list of Star Shaped Guitars, will put you on the right track for doing just that.

Here’s my complete list of the best star shaped guitars you can find on the internet with a review and also a link to get more info for each guitar.

Daisy Rock Debutante Star Short Scale Electric Guitar (Absolute Best For Beginners)

For an entry-level guitar, this Daisy Rock is actually pretty well built. It has a maple neck and a rose fingerboard which produces a nice warm tone and feels great to play on. The pick ups are humbuckers which is great for any starting musician. I’d have to say for anyone wanting to get a guitar on a budget this is a pretty good deal considering that this guitar is actually built to last, rather than most entry-level guitars that will only last a year or two before needing to be replaced. This guitar is especially great for younger players since it is smaller as well. (22 frets).

Ibanez Xiphos

A guitar obviously made for metal, the Xiphos has everything a metal guitarist needs. Made out of Mahogany with an extended fretboard and rosewood fretboard….This is an awesome guitar to shred. The pickups pick up the guitar sound crystal clear that really cut through so you can really hear what you’re playing when you shred. Absolutely awesome Guitar.

USA SIGNATURE GUS G. STAR (Jackson)

This guitar is hard to describe how incredible it sounds, definitely one of the top guitars on this list if you’re interested in playing rock, alternative, or metal. The Satin-Snow White, and Deep Black finishes make the guitar look so slick. Mahogany body, the rosewood fretboard of course and the neck is maple and NOT bolt in, it is set in.

(If you don’t know who Gus G is btw, he played with Ozzy and also has his own band firewind which i strongly reccomend checking out)

This guitar also has special signature active humbucker pick ups from Seymour Duncan made exclusively for Gus’s guitars as well and they really did an absolutely phenomenal job with these.

I specifically love this guitar because the cutaways allow you to reach all the way down the fretboard extremely easily, not all guitars with this shape go all the way down.

Jackson King V (Popular)

The King V comes in many different styles and is primarily played in rock and metal music, this guitar is the least star shaped out of all the guitars, but still packs a powerful punch. There’s quite a few signature guitars with this model, that are pretty good. However, for the price you can get something much better in my opinion.

These guitars are very popular, lots of people own these and they’re a very popular instrument among professional artists as well.

Dommenget Explorer (Acoustic/Electric)

This guitar is one of my favorites because there is an acoustic and an electric version, and you really just don’t see acoustic guitars shaped like this very often.

Both guitars sound great, and have a very classy/elegant look.

If you’re ever interested in looking for interesting looking guitars look up some of their custom work online, you won’t be disappointed.

Best for Old school Rock, Or Old School Metal guitarist.

EVH Edward Van Halen Stripe Series Star Guitar (Great Deal!)

This guitar is seriously just a steal, probably one of the coolest guitars not only in style but also in story…..this is probably the one on the list to get.

This guitar was actually inspired by the parts guitar that Eddie Van Halen had made in the 70s.

Made from a charvel style body, Eddie added a Floyd Rose and changed out the pickup a few separate times….(In this model there is an EVH wolfgang humbucker)

This guitar is a steal and should honestly be selling for triple what they sell it for. Probably going to gift myself one this year.

Epiphone Snow Falcon (Budget Friendly)

I’ll give them credit for such a good name for this, and I’ll also give them credit for making such a budget friendly guitar.

This all-white guitar is co-created by the creator of Dethklok Brendon Small, and also comes with a gig bag……which is also in white.

These beautiful guitars are very original, and come with Epiphone’s lifetime warranty.

Something I don’t like, the input jack on this is just kind of tacky in my opinion all flying V shaped guitar should come in sideways not head on, but that’s just me.

This Guitar has a Mahogany Body and Neck, Phenolic fingerboard material, A lock-tone tun-o-matic bridge, and burstbucker pickups (Gibson).

Malmberg Star Guitar

If you really want your guitar to look as star-like as possible, then look no further.

This wild looking guitar seriously stands out from all the others, and has thirteen points coming off it.

This guitar was actually made for Abba’s Björn Ulvaeus, and also has been used by Billie Joe of Green Day as well.

They’re pretty hard to find, and since they don’t sound great I wouldn’t really recommend one. They do make an awesome collectors item though!

First Act Star Guitar (Second best for beginners, but cheaper)

This guitar is a great guitar for beginners and is definitely one of the most common brands for beginners as well, the problem however with them is that the hardware and components of these guitars just wear out very fast and just all around aren’t really to good.

Even the wood is cheap, and they don’t do a real check to make sure each guitar is good before they go out.

There are tons of better options for starter guitars, and if you want it to be star-shaped I’d recommend checking out the Daisy Rock Star Shaped Guitar.

John Birch Star Guitar

Here’s another cool guitar that happens to be hard to find,

The John Birch Star Guitar was made for Gerry Shephard of the Glitter Band way back in 1972. It was actually recently revamped in 2008 as well.

ESP Rl-600 sig

This is an awesome guitar, meant for metal.

It boasts a Floyd Rose, Emg-hz F-h2 passive humbuckers, and jumbo frets so you can fly across the fingerboard when you shred.

Even though most major guitar stores no longer carry this guitar, it’s still pretty easily found used.

Listen to this Improv on one here.

ESP LTD FX260SM

If you can find one of these used you will be getting an absolutely incredible deal.

With this guitar you get Active Seymour Duncan Live Wire Dave Mustaine signature pickups, A Mahogany body, a rosewood fingerboard and so much more.

Guitars like this can easily fetch 1,000+.

Check it out.

(LTD is a series by ESP btw)

Bc Rich Ironbird

Definitely meant for heavy styles of music, the Ironbird is actually known for it’s BDSM pick-ups (Stands for Broad-Dynamic-Sonically-Matched)

Washburn Dime V Pro

This guitar not only looks amazing in the carmel burst, but it’s also very versatile and sounds great soloing and with rhythm.

This guitar is extremely popular with just about anyone who plays it just because of how comfortable it feels.

Downside?

Doesn’t have a Floyd Rose, which is very odd for this type of guitar.
